I just had a thought

So me and a friend are planning to get get cartilage piercings this Wednesday. But just now I realized that I might not want to do that. My family is planning on flying to Vegas for Christmas and I don't know how the airport people would react to my piercing with the metal detector. They might make me take it out, and I thought you weren't suppose to for awhile after you get it done.

I suppose this requires further investigation. To Google, away!

Do you mean like in your nose?

I wear two earings in each ear. I've never taken them out or had a problem with airport security. I will frequently wear a small chain that is either gold or silver around my neck. No problems.

And, I now have a titanium plate in my neck with 4 screws in it. I got that last August and have flown several times. No problems.

If that helps.

Lol, no. The ear cartilage. On the left, naturally.

Hmm, it's interesting that that plate in your neck has never set off the alarms. All the stuff you read about airport security online tells you how sensitive they are and blah blah blah.
