I decided I was going to start making daily writing update posts again, but this week there wasn't a lot to report.

Once again I'm staying at my aunt's house (as I did in May, which is why that was the ONLY month when updates were regular. Sigh.) while she's living in my grandmother's house in another state for her new job. She pays me enough to buy my medication and food and a little bit more if I'm careful.

So, yeah, I'm now able to spend the time writing that I need, but this past week I've just been researching mostly. As I was telling my mother earlier, whenever I research I don't feel like I've really accomplished much. Researching doesn't tend to have concrete results like writing does, and I "research" all the time in my spare time because I'm genuinely curious about some of the subjects. So come day's end I don't feel like I've really done much. Maybe I wouldn't feel this way if I took pen-and-paper notes instead of just bookmarking sites after I've read through them. Something solid to look upon at the end of the day and say, "This is what I accomplished today." That idea has some merit, I'll have to see.

A new, completely unrelated story concept came to me while I was researching some Asian myths. Typical, really. But I flipped open my big black book and took the notes down anyway. It actually has some potential as a series of shorts. Again, we'll see.

The only real writing I did this week was on Wednesday, something like six pages. Unfortunately, the pages were full of suck which prompted me to take drastic action. More on that later.

Well, I guess that's all to report for now on the writing front.

My mother, aunt, and her two children were here for the day and have just left. They'll get home at midnight, but they'd never get the girls up early enough to make it in time for my mom to teach her class in church. We bought some cool stuff for a sale we're doing in November, and my aunt bought me this neat star made out of grapevine wood and decorated with fake holly and berries. I really like the star shape, for those that don't know. We also bought a three feet tall lime green tinsel Christmas tree for me to put out when it gets to that season. It was only five bucks, lights and all. Oh, the lights are also green, btw, and not normal Christmas green either--lime green! It's so cool.

More immediately, we bought candy corn shaped lights, spider web, a black metal web with a green spider on it, and get out some lights already here to put on the porch for Halloween. Yeah, a little late. Oh well. It still looks cool. I'll have to remember to do the web tomorrow. It's too late tonight.

Speaking of late, that's all for now. I'm off to bed.

Geez, only I could say there's not much to report and then whip up that monster, hmm?
