go up to her and ask if you can give her a hug because you want her to know how much you care about her and you thought she could use one. Important: Mean it. Have tissues close by and hug her. Asking her what's wrong may or may not be the right thing to do. You may get more then you wanted or are comfortable with in emotional baggage.
Or you could just pick a good time to hug her quickly on your way out of the house or room.
We all have tough times in our lives and sometimes we need TLC reassurance that we are loved even when we're at our worst.
