I think that it is common if something that you wrote really appealed to someone and they want to acknowledge you. If they acknowledge your awesomeness in their LJ maybe some of their friends and readers will pop over and see what you are bringing to the dance.
So, totally cool. I am not surprised. Of your stuff that I have read, I am very, very impressed. Oh yeah, I actually rec'd your stuff in a couple of places. :) And, individual recs to my LJ friends who seem to agree with me. Every time that I read your stuff, I always see a few people commenting ahead of me that I sent your way.
