Oh my god, I hate questions like this. As if there's no middle ground between comfortable and fashionable.

One of my very favorite shows is What Not To Wear with Clinton Kelly and Stacey London. I love that in every episode they explain to people that you don't have to choose. That just because something is fashionable it doesn't mean that it isn't comfortable.

And in fact, I have a huge girl-crush on Clinton Kelly and we were on the same flight leaving San Francisco and were all standing around to board our flight and they delayed it about a half an hour. He was standing all by himself about 20 feet away from me. I actually walked up and spoke with him for about 5 or 10 minutes. My God that man is gorgeous. He was about 6 ft 3 inches, wearing jeans and cowboy boots and a button shirt with a pullover sweater. His skin was perfect and his eyes were so blue.

But the best part was that he was amazingly gracious. I told him that I didn't want to intrude, but that I wanted to let him know that I loved their show. He absolutely engaged *me* in conversation. We talked about fashion and the show and the people that are on it. He said they actually cut the tape to make the people not look as whacked as they actually are. We laughed and he smiled his most beautiful smile.

So, long -unrelated- story later, they are not mutually exclusive.

And if you don't know who Clinton Kelly is:

btw-I don't think I'm his type, if you know what I mean.

I have occasionally caught a few eppies of that with my stepmom. One of the things I like about is that they do try and convince people that comfort and fashion aren't unrelated categories. And I have no idea why people think they should be.
